How to Help Your Child Build a Successful Life

We all want a good life for our children, but all too often we don’t even define it. Sharon unpacks the ingredients, gets to the bottom of this, and makes it easy. Busts some myths along the way.

Resources for Overcoming Learning Disabilities –AND Christmas Gift Giving!

Just felt that I needed to go over the resources I offer, since many of you haven’t heard of them yet. Starting with the book that started this broadcast, I give you a 360 birds’ eye view of all your child’s needs, to you can pick what to teach, then give you some choices about methods, so that you can go and pick curricular resources — RATHER than just shoot in the dark as is usually done. You are not trying to replicate a failed and limited public school system, with it very limited fact/skill base, aimed at the average student, with methods at best suited for the factory system. Yes! This is directly overcoming “learning disabilities” or “overcoming learning problems” — each chapter deals with different learning needs and how to cover that — no matter if your student is average, above or below — who cares? The point is, how can you help your student. I answer that.

Also I talk about solid and unique resources for study skills and learning English spelling. Also, other resources for the parent, educator, and citizen interested in education. Come to www.overcominglearningproblems.org.

Thanksgiving 2020

Wow! Can we be thankful this year? The Spirit moved me to thank God for the upheaval. I was surprised. In this episode I ask where the Thanksgiving decorations are. Time to bring them back. Overcome bad curricula at home. Think about forming children with joy, aspirations, altruism, and self-restraint.

The Puritans were escaping a tyrannical government, desiring religious freedom and convenanted together to create a better place. They celebrated thanksgiving with a diverse people who also had a history of giving thanks and feasting. And we think we are so great that we take celebrating the good part away from our children?

Offered are some ideas of how to make Thanksgiving better: books, art, developmentally appropriate story.

Since I posted this, I have heard a couple of other messages that also encouraged the celebration of Thanksgiving, particularly at this time.
Pastor Bonnie Chavda, who had a special anointing to work on healing race relations, spoke on honoring the history of Thanksgiving : https://chavdaministries.org/Groups/1000047683/Chavda_Ministries_International/Media/Podcasts/Podcasts.aspx

And Kevin Zadai speaks on the importance of celebrating God and with our family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcy3znZrKj8

Overcoming Trauma

Dr. Lendell Braud, PhD in Pyschology, shares with us her method for helping children and teens overcome trauma. This is exceptional because she had data, over decades, of this actually working with the majority of her clients.
It is open to all comers; does NOT require giving up the Christian faith, nor using any religious language. It is God who heals people. I think that what this does is help people listen for God’s healing words. See what you think. Take what works for you. It is God who heals and delivers and makes new. Evil masquerades and lies, but never offers a better life.

Here is Dr. Braud’s website: www.oldmenewme.com

For a seed of any amount, I will send you a digital copy of a picture like those of Dr. Braud’s participants. For a seed of over $100, I will send you a handmade, prophetic picture of like kind: a picture of transition to newness of life. This offer good only in 2020.
