Prayer: How to Dive into the Depths thru Ask, Seek, Knock

We recap our teaching on prayer and then delve into something seldom if ever taught: how to dive into the depths of prayer. So much teaching is just the beginning of prayer… or how to get prayers answered…or why they are not answered. We covered all of that quickly (rather than bit by bit at great length which is done elsewhere.) Today, similarly, we cover a lot of ground: how to go deep with God. Ask, seek, and knock follow the pattern of the Outer Court, the Holy Place and even the Holiest of Holies. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, His courts with praise. And wow! you will be awed and heavily impressed by the glory of God. It is time to recognize God’s greatness, holiness, awesomeness. The amazing thing is that we are invited.

Kids’ Problems? Nothing is Impossible

Unpacking the angel’s words to Mary, we see that with God, nothing is impossible. This is good news to a mother who is worried about her child. We find a secret or two about how to receive an answer to prayer.

How to Bless Your Children

As we send our children off to school, let’s send them with a spoken blessing, so they move from the beloved identity of being a child of God. We talk a lot about original sin, and surely the Fall was real, but Jesus’ finished work is more real. So now, we should focus on the original blessing that the Lord gave us in creation, and the ongoing blessing we have a being in Christ. And let’s speak that into the world, and no more importantly than in our homes, over our children.
