Winning the War with Praise and Prophets

What happens when you are attacked? Viciously. Unnecessarily?
Good news! God takes care of His.
From the lesson of King Jehosaphat — he sought the Lord
he listened to the answers – through the Word, through the prophets
he did as told
He showed up
The Lord fought the battle by setting “ambushments.” The enemy killed themselves.
The kingdom of Judah was left with spoils of war. Then they had rest, peace.

Notice some of the details in the story! Why did the army have so very many people? Why did they have so very many jewels?
Notice that the enemy, which offered to start war, ended fighting with itself. Notice that those who just wanted peace and quiet finally got it.
There are lots of lessons here. I leave some quiet time in the reading, so you can think– and apply it to today.

Some of the aggression we are facing is so egregious that it is hard to even believe. The slander is so ridiculous. The people of God have been altogether too sweet. But the evil always overplays its hand, we say. God in this case, “set ambushments.” The Kingdom of Judah had to show up and sent their praise team ahead of their army. The enemy killed each others. Then there was 3 days of picking up jewelry etc. Wow.

Today, too, we should trust the Lord. We will have to show up. “God is in control” is normally a cop-out. Nevertheless, the prophets that I trust have said encouraging things. It is time to continue believing. However, I do rejoice at the news of this weeks, that many more people are showing up.

Here is Steve Turley’s collection about activities in Australia. This is the most fulsome video I’ve seen, relying mostly on Avi Yemeni’s, Rebel News, reporting. Union members confront union leaders in cahoots with government over-reach, in show of force that police can’t intimidate. Notice particularly 8:31, shown widely. Mature construction worker, watching from grassy sideline is aggressed upon by cop in riot gear and assault rifle, yelling, doesn’t move, and sees cop retreat. Comments heard include, “We are not afraid anymore.”

Pattern of Decisions Makes for Patterns of Results

Trusting we still have the liberty to read the Bible in public, out loud, we read II Chronicles 15 & 16. King Asa does some things well and wisely and good good results. Then, he changes and chooses unwise pattern. He gets sick and dies.

King Asa decides to trust his doctors, rather than the Lord. he feet get worse. Then he dies. Even tho, over all, he was a pretty good king.

How to Build Confidence in the Student with LDs

Great topic for back to school! Confidence for overcoming school challenges is a vital issue for the student who has some sort of learning problem. First, one must start with the right identity or self concept. Then one must say, enunciate positive confessions (both good self-talk and appropriate words in social context.) This is fundamental. Almost always, the process of diagnosis and the school situation gives the bright student the idea that he or she is stupid. From that perspective, they do not find the solutions for overcoming that they need. Faith, here, finds the grace available. The first — and last word — for helping the student with LD/learning problems.

How to Get Prayers Answered

Third in our series on healing. Nearly everyone needs a healing. Here we have lots of mothers who are praying for healing for their children. Among the grandparent generation, healing is top priority, top of mind.

So far, we have established that healing is in the atonement. So, it is not a matter of getting God to heal us, but to receive the healing that he has already provided. Firstly, people seem not to know that healing is available. Often, when they first find out, they see miraculous recoveries. Then, for those who have known for many years, after some disappointments, some doubts creep in. So, more than the basic announcement is needed at that point. Next we need to see what blocks healing. There are some things, and we will see those right from Scripture today. Jems 4

God does what you and especially your child healed. Your offspring shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be, (strongly: shall be), their shalom, their total well-being. Isaiah 54:13
