Continuing in our series on encouraging those educating their children at home, or newly supervising their children’s education at home, we address the time challenges. To that end, I have offers some forms that should be very helpful. Unfortunately, so far, I have not found a way to post those as a separate document with native Word formatting. For the time being, the info is posted here (trying to translate from Word to WordPress). Hope you can make sense of it. I will post it as a separate document that can be easily printable, and more easily read, accessible from the FREE page — when and if I figure out how. 🙂
I give you ideas for a variety of situations. Forms to help posted soon. Please feel free to ask your questions as comments on the website. Anyone can answer/contribute their ideas also.

SYLABUS/GOAL SHEET
SUBJECT:
GOAL for Teaching this Subject:
This is the why. Of course we want to make grades, but that is not the reason that this particular course was chosen. Is this a vital occupational skill? Is this knowledge that a citizen or parent needs? What is the benefit for learning this? Why did you choose it? (This is often left out and you will find it is very productive to consider and discuss with students.)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
These are often given in the textbooks themselves. If so, then consider them well. Secular education may have different designs that you do. However, every lesson plan or chapter is aimed at teaching something specific. It helps both you the presenter/evaluator and the student to spell out what that is.
DISCIPLINE OBJECTIVES:
Put whatever rules you need to put. Add any character traits you are working on.
METHOD OF PRESENTATION:
Consider how best to get the information, skills, and attitudes over.
METHOD OF EVALUATION:
Spell out exactly how the grade will be decided.
You might have a section before this one on what kind of work you want the student to produce, but normally in college contexts, this is incented so the 2 possible sections are one.
Put possible projects here or in the ACTION/PRODUCTION section.
RESOURCES:
List any texts, books, movies, realia, etc. that you want to make the student aware of. Please remember that this list works not only for your student and you, but also double as documentation of your bona fide education plans should someone in authority be checking. WEEK/DAY SCHEDULE
Modify at will; this was made in Word 10. I like coloring in blocks.
