You expect holes in your donuts. Glazed, cake, sugared, chocolate, sprinkles and all. Why you can even buy donut holes. But holes in your jelly donut, of whatever flavor – Bavarian creme, lemon, Boston Creme, etc. – is just missing something!
The same goes for your Montessori training. One of the richest, life transforming cosmic educational experiences that doesn’t include the God of the cosmos has to be missing something.
There are well meaning people in Montessori who either don’t know or choose not to acknowledge the deep Christian spiritual foundation and insights from God that inspired Dr. Montessori.
Her respect for the child is a theological proposition spoken by Jesus – let the children come, become like a child, have faith like a child, don’t hinder them, don’t offend them – it is not just a humanistic ideal but God’s very heart.There is something so special about childhood that God wanted Jesus to experience it.
Dr. Montessori writes in “The Child in the Church,” “Teachers you must see the child as Jesus saw him.” and, “The highest calling is to become a Christian.”
