Read to your teen at bedtime

MomLife Today : “How do you combat the constant influences on your teens from the unrelenting stream of media?
Reading Bedtime Stories to Teens
“Teens” is not a typo. I’m not talking about reading to toddlers, although I could write passionately about the value of reading to little ones. Today I want to challenge your thinking about teens.” — MomLife Today www.momlifetoday.com

Interesting. Yes, of course we read to our tots. This might be a creative, bonding experience. Finaly something as engaging as that ubiquitous smartphone. I could also, however, see some young people saying “Lame!” How about everyone reading to everyone? My sister and I read a great historical novel to the parents on a long vacation drive. Maybe the whole family could agree to read a young adult novel of one sibling’s choice in a rotating fashion? Maybe this could be an intimate girl time for mother and daugther with commentary and discussion on women’s issues? Hey, maybe we could even revive the idea of reading to grandmother! What do you think?
