INSPIRING STORY OF ONE WOMAN PARENT REVIVAL IN SCHOOLS

Today, hear the extremely inspiring story of Marta Silva’s one woman revival in schools by reaching out to parents. With nothing more than the mandate from God, Marta went to schools in her area (northeastern US), reached out to parents, held a meeting, told them the problems, and inspired them to an active revival.  It is an inspiring story! One woman caused a parent revival that addressed the problems of their children in schools.

I met Marta at Calvary Pentecostal Campground one summer on what for me what a worship retreat and reconnoiter. Marta was the bright spot, so full of energy and faith. She told me what she was doing, just as a woman and a mother — but full of faith and Spirit. She was going to various school surroundings, door to door, asking parents to a meeting, sometimes at the school depending upon the administration, telling parents the problems, and getting revival and mobilization for reform.

Hear her story. Be patient with the sound. Then, go and do thou likewise!

Victory for a Child who “Cant Speak”

Recently, I saw a prayer request for a little guy who cant speak, and besides praying, I realized that I had not shared our family’s victory with this issue. I had 3 grandsons who “couldn’t” speak. Let me tell you about them, and about another little gal. It should give you ideas and some hope and faith for any child of yours who “cant speak.”

Also, along the way, I mentioned diet. I took my grandson off milk, so he could hear. Here is a link to Dr. Melillo’s Disconnected Kids, to his book on diet, and to a search on the Fiengold diet. The Fiengold diet is an elimination diet that people use to find out what foods are irritating their children. Consequently, it is thought of as a diet for allergies or ADD, but the same logic works for any problem. Experimenting, you know… like science. LOL You have to laugh these days. People are so stirred up and angry about things they know nothing about. When this Fiengold diet came out, like in the 70s, lots of people spoke against it. It certainly has stood the test of time. You use it to find out what is bothering your child. If you already know, of course, it is a lot of trouble.

Like I said, your situation might not be exactly like any that I shared, but the stories will give you a place to start, some ideas, and surely some hope & faith. And that is where everything starts.

Resources for Overcoming Learning Disabilities –AND Christmas Gift Giving!

Just felt that I needed to go over the resources I offer, since many of you haven’t heard of them yet. Starting with the book that started this broadcast, I give you a 360 birds’ eye view of all your child’s needs, to you can pick what to teach, then give you some choices about methods, so that you can go and pick curricular resources — RATHER than just shoot in the dark as is usually done. You are not trying to replicate a failed and limited public school system, with it very limited fact/skill base, aimed at the average student, with methods at best suited for the factory system. Yes! This is directly overcoming “learning disabilities” or “overcoming learning problems” — each chapter deals with different learning needs and how to cover that — no matter if your student is average, above or below — who cares? The point is, how can you help your student. I answer that.

Also I talk about solid and unique resources for study skills and learning English spelling. Also, other resources for the parent, educator, and citizen interested in education. Come to www.overcominglearningproblems.org.

Irlen or Scotopic Syndrome — Easily Remediated, so Check it Early

We interviewed Dr. Carole Zuccone Ed.D from Houston about scotopic syndrome that Professor Helen Irlen discovered. It is now scientifically proven. It is inexpensive to screen for. It is easy to remediate. You will enjoy the interview. Gosh, this could help lots of students! Ask me how I know.

One early clue is that your child wants less light when they are readying than you think is normal. I remember my mother coming in the room and turning on the lamp. “How can you see?” And then my eyes would hurt. Now, this is not the end all, but just a clue.
