Prayer Campaign Encouragement

It is time to pray. The problems are staggering. It is time to appeal to Heaven. Just like our founders did. We knew we had no great army, no navy at all, when we withdrew from the British Empire, then the ruler of all the seas, the greatest military force on the planet, and a fully corrupt government. Yet, with firm reliance on Providence, aligned with what conscience said was right, after long patience, we acted. God helped.

God helped when the fog and night covered Washington’s crossing the Delware. God helped with bullets went through Washington’s clothing, but did not touch his skin. God helped when French helped. God helped when we did not fall down into the violence of the French revolution. God helped when, finally, after serious prayer on knees, and hiring of a pastor to lead and preach to the body, the founders found a way to construct a method of governing that up until now, as long as it was adhered to, secured the rights and liberty of our inhabitants.

Pray that our children know this history. Pray that our nation repents. Pray that God grants us the mercy of righteous leaders. Let us pray for our political prisoners, whom I am finding are virtually tortured. Pray for safety for children. Pray for understanding and courage for parents. Pray for educators. Pray.

Happy Independence Day!

YOUNG PERSON INTERVIEWED

For this holiday . we are going to play a rerun from back in 2009 when a young person from Rick Green’s Patriot Academy was interviewed with us on the radio. Patriot Academy takes a few good students ever year (many more now than in the past), teaches them about how our the structure of our government works, and lets them get some real hands on experience both in “moot legislature” and at the Texas capitol. It was great to have this gal. Have a listen.

NEW ENGLAND PRIMER

Another year, I was so taken with the influence of the New England primer, that I made my own “primer” — which of course was very different. It is more like a basic civics discussion for children rather than a Biblically based first grade reader. I hope you like it, though. It is in the “shop.”

Please consider this: this thoroughly Biblical foundation for education was used from the 1600s through the 1930s. People still had doctrinal differences, but everyone agreed on the 10 Commandments; everyone agreed on teaching reading, everyone agreed that children should get moral teaching and Bible knowledge along with the ABCs. And the nation was much happier!

GREAT HISTORY RESOURCES

Also, let me alert you to the wonderful books that David and Tim Barton are providing. They do an awesome job of relaying real historical information, based on original sources, that means a whole lot both for a foundation to understanding our nation but also in terms of the current political structure.  And wow! they now have a museum. Imagine, seeing a real Geneva Bible, or holding a gun from the Barbary Wars, or seeing a letter than a president signed with his own hand. If you have a group, make an appointment for a tour. It is in Irving on Royal Road. I recommend it highly. https://www.journeymuseum.org/visit/hours-and-admission/

And if you are a history teacher, please please, apply for the summer teacher training. It is like drinking out of a fire hose. Great fun. A good many teachers from around the nation arrive for a 2 1/2 day seminar in Irving/Los Colinas. David and Tim talk to you directly. And let you have a hands on experience with lots of artifacts. It can’t be beat!  https://wallbuilders.com/summerinstitute/

it was refreshing to see well researched history, and get it in a non-polemic way. However, if you did need to answer in one of those hot, confrontative situations, you will want to know the actual facts. The presentation was helpful in that regard. It will very much furnish a teacher with ideas to enliven the classroom.  It certainly is a necessary corrective for anyone who had to endure the poverty of what history the government schools taught and the counter-productive fiction that some are now teaching.

TEACHING STUDENTS HOW TO TEST WHAT THEY ARE TOLD

I couldn’t help but buying some books. I bought 2 primers to give to my grandsons! Ha! But now I am trying to memorize the Shorter Cathecism out of it.  Most classical schools do break it down and help the grammar school children learn it. But David pointed out that it being in a question and answer format was probably purposive: teaching students to ask for definitions and for evidence, and for meanings. How refreshing. Different from merely “question authority” as being cynical and rebellious, this is more like “testing all things and holing to what is good.”  Sounds like a great topic of discussion or even a project, while we endure some hot weather.

Documentary Premiere – BUT SOMEONE DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE IT

https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-unseen-crisis-vaccine-stories-you-were-never-told-documentary_5240019.html?utm_campaign=News&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsbutton

Vaccine Stories Your Were Never Told is a movie put out by Epoch Times, the most trust non-partisan news source in the country. When a person is tested in the fires of Tianemen Square and CCP attempted murder, then one is a hardened steel  sword of truth in the USA.

On the other hand, when a source or platform consistently censors truthful, important material, yet permits violence, hatefulness, silliness, etc, one must wonder about their integrity and usefulness.

If you are tired and inundated, and working on providing a clean food supply to your family, fine. But if you are newer to this discussion, please don’t miss watching this. You are invited to post your summary, and reasoned analysis.

THINK AGAIN : Hall, Lyons, Novak ON SCHOOL VOUCHERS

Concluding out series on the hot topic of “school choice” actually meaning “vouchers.” Like so many other issues, the words used are used in order to deceive. Styled as educational freedom, this is an attempted takeover of all private education, even homeschooling, by the very government that ruined public education. The shekels come with shackels.

Heather Hall uses her principle approach to unpack the situation. Dr. Max Lyons suggests an alternative: congregations providing scholarships. And Keven Novak concludes the series with the warning that if we think this will be increased freedom, we need to think again.

This is only a taste of what they have to say. I strongly encourage you to get the full document: Vouchers: Shekels with Shackles.  It is available in pdf format to download right now if you sign up on our announcement list. Or, you may get it at the publishers: Front Line Ministries. Please get it and share it.

The Discussion at the State Capitol

I am seeing more discussion about this on social media and even with postcards coming to my home. Largely they appear to be the leftists being against it, charging that the conservatives just want more money for themselves, for private schools.  They argue that public money should not go to fund religion. Hmm. And then, I see politicians smiling broadly at how they are increasing freedom. That, in itself, should give you pause.

If you weren’t informed: rights come from God. Then we, as free people, agreed to let government have some duties, limited duties, to protect us, basically. Anytime a politician claims to give you rights, they are off the path of American political philosophy and are enslaving  you. If that was not taught and underlined in your elementary schooling, that in itself shows the degradation of education and the danger in our current society. You very much need to read this little compilation –please.
